Home, and back to work.
Reformer Pilates classes, workshops and talks for South African women 40 and over, in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Why I come back
I built and sold three companies at home and advised in South African government and corporate business before I ever did this work. I now run a functional nutrition and Reformer Pilates practice in Germany, working with women in their forties whose bodies had started behaving differently and who couldn't get anyone to take it seriously.
I come back because what I've learned here is worth bringing home, and because the women I most want to work with are there.
And because almost everything written about this stage of life was built around somebody else. The research that shaped the standard advice largely wasn't about us. The timelines it assumes don't match what many of the women I know actually experienced. And none of it accounts for what it costs to be the person several other people are relying on — the one who got there first, without a template, holding a career and a family and often an extended family too.
That's who this is for.
Classes in Johannesburg and Cape Town
I teach at partner studios in Johannesburg and Cape Town when I'm in the country. Book directly with them — they run their own schedules and payments, I just show up and teach.
My next dates in South Africa: 8–17 November 2026, 18 December 2026 – 7 January 2027, and 2–16 February 2027. Studio classes for these visits will be listed here as they are confirmed. To hear first, email sasha@goodnp.de.
Not in the country when I am? The guides and programmes are available anywhere.
What the workshops are — and what they are not
Each session is 90 minutes: a Reformer Pilates class built for a body in midlife, a proper cool-down, and a conversation about one theme — energy, sleep, strength, or the way weight behaves differently after forty.
What this is: movement taught by someone with the Balance Advanced Reformer Pilates certification, plus general education about midlife health.
What this is not: individual dietary advice, a personalised nutrition plan, or medical care. I'm not registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and I don't provide individual dietary treatment in South Africa. Where something needs a doctor or a registered dietitian, I'll say so — I'd rather tell you plainly than sell you something adjacent.
Booking me for your studio
I hold the Balance Advanced Reformer Pilates certification and run a functional nutrition and Reformer Pilates practice in Mainz (near Frankfurt), Germany, built entirely around women over 40 — perimenopause, energy, strength, and bodies that have started behaving differently.
That's a member group most studios already have and aren't always programming for. If you want to put something in front of them that isn't on your regular schedule, here's what I can run.
REFORMER ONLY — A guest class on your existing schedule, or a themed 90-minute master class: strength after 40, the perimenopause body, energy. With the reasoning explained alongside the movement, not just the choreography.
TALK ONLY — A wellness talk for your members, 45 minutes with questions. Why energy disappears in your forties, what the research on perimenopause actually says and who it was built around, and what's worth doing about it. No reformers needed, so it works as an evening event or a members' morning.
INTEGRATED WORKSHOP — Both, in one session: a themed Reformer class, a proper cool-down, then the conversation. The format I run in Germany, and the one that consistently does the most for a room.
FOR YOUR TEACHERS — A workshop on programming and cueing for clients over 40. A growing share of most studios' membership, and rarely covered properly in initial training.
What I need: reformers for anything movement-based, a date, and ideally two to three months' notice. I teach in English.
Rates depend on format, length and group size. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll come back with a number within 24 hours.
Speaking — organisations, networks and wellness days
I speak to companies, professional bodies and women's networks on midlife health: why energy disappears in your forties, what the research on perimenopause actually says and who it was built around, and how to put movement into a working life that has no room for it.
I'm not speaking at this as a theorist. I built and sold three companies — sports marketing, an exotic handbag business, a telecoms company — advised at national level in South African government and business, and I sit on the board of the Anti-Apartheid Legacy Trust in the UK. I know the audience because I was the audience: the woman holding the whole thing together while her own health quietly went sideways.
Formats: a 45-minute talk with Q&A; a half-day session combining a talk and a Reformer class; or a panel contribution.
Most useful to: women's networks and employee resource groups, leadership programmes, professional bodies, and Women's Month programmes.
Booked by enquiry and quoted per engagement. Tell me about your audience and the occasion and I'll follow up within 24 hours.
